Well, we’ve hit the midpoint of October — just two weeks from Halloween and its inevitable sugar high. You know what that means: the traditional holiday chaos is about to begin.

Before we get wrapped up in all the holiday hustle, I want to pause and talk about something near and dear to my heart. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’m a breast cancer survivor, and I fully credit early detection with saving my life.

As a survivor, every October reminds me how grateful I am for early detection and the care that saved my life. My friends, I cannot stress enough the importance of monthly self-exams and yearly mammograms. So consider this your friendly PSA — schedule that mammogram and make your health a priority.
